How To Deal With Unexplained Infertility?

How To Deal With Unexplained Infertility?

While you might find the answer to the question “How to conceive with infertility problems?” It is very hard to find the answer to the question “How to conceive with unexplained infertility?”

The first answer to anybody who might think they’re facing infertility is a fertility test. Typically, a fertility test has substantial evidence of whether or not you have a fertility problem. Based on the reports of this test, you are directed towards what the problem is and what is causing it.

But what if at the first step itself, you are diagnosed with unexplained infertility? At this stage, you must be worried already about the fact that there is a problem. But not being able to identify it makes it even harder, especially when you know that the biological clock is ticking.

So, what is the possible way forward for those low sperm counts and no ovulation?

The treatment of unexplained infertility is empirical. This means, the treatment plan is not fixed and is purely based on guesswork. Either way, there is only this option left and one or more of these have to be tried to conceive with unexplained infertility.

Out of the two things that are going to be discussed, the first one is quintessential and cannot be avoided at all. The second one anyways is the only answer to most of the infertility problems.

Lifestyle Changes

Generally, this has to be followed for any other infertility problem diagnosed, but when it comes to unexplained infertility, improving your health overall is very important.

Lose Weight

Excess weight is known to show the effect on the hormonal balance. It also makes you prone to other health issues like obesity and PCOS that severely affect the hormones.

Another problem that excess weight attracts is the low quality of sperm. Research has shown that sperm motility and sperm count are both affected by excess weight.

Reduce Alcohol and Tobacco Intake

Frequent drinking and smoking are connected to low testosterone levels in men and a trigger to PCOS in women. Both of these affect fertilities adversely and could be a possible reason for the cause of unexplained infertility.

It is also very important to consider this when you have unexplained infertility because alcohol and tobacco could be the most possible triggers for your condition.

Another reason why this change is included in this list is that every other infertility condition has some of the other links to these habits.

IVF and IUI Treatments

In IVF (In Vitro Fertilization), the embryo is developed in a tube to implant the same on the walls of the uterus for successful conception.

IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) involves the facilitation of fertility by placing the sperm into the uterus.

The most successful method for conceiving with unexplained infertility is through an IVF treatment. While IUI can also be considered, the success rates are known to be more with the former treatment because IVF is more invasive whereas IUI is minimally invasive.

Having said that, there is always a good chance that IUI might workout. It is suggested that the couple tries the IUI method, post which, IVF can be opted for.

There is also a possibility of discovering the cause of infertility during the IVF process. In couples who are older than 35, it is advised to straight away opt for IVF over IUI because of the quality of eggs and sperm and the success rates.
