Determining Causes of Male Infertility

Defective sperm production, sperm dys-function and impaired transport are the predominant reasons for male infertility. Congenital abnormalities like Congenital Bilateral Absence of Vas deferens (CBAVD), Cryptorchidis and developmental disorders of genitor-urinary tract might cause infertility in men. Acquired causes like varicocele, tuberculosis of the genital tract, certain viral infections like mumps, trauma or cancer to testicles and certain hormonal disorders could affect fertility in men.
